Most Bed and Breakfasts say they're a great place to read a book--and ours is no exception. But at the FireLight, you can read a book and do a whole lot more.
Welcome to the Third Floor! Here you'll find an honest-to-goodness, antique, 22 foot-long shuffleboard table. This is a fun game that you just don't see very often. (More about the table at the bottom of the page.)
On the other end of the "toy" spectrum (and on the other end of the room) is a 61" TV with a Wii (an electronic game) connected to it. If you've never played a Wii before, you're in for a treat. And those of you who already know about Wii's will be glad to know that we have a number of different games.
And right in the middle of these two extremes is an original, 1947 Seeburg Jukebox, loaded with your favorite hits from the forties and fifties.
The Third Floor has amazing views overlooking Williams on one side, and the forest on the other, and a variety of board games and puzzles are located in the sitting nook.
Now, about the Shuffleboard Table: It was built well before WWII and purchased by and housed in a local bar, "The World Famous Sultana," for about 40 years. When it was donated to the City of Williams about 20 years ago, it took 14 men to carry it out of the bar. It sat at the golf course's country club until it was moved to the youth recreation center.
After another decade of use at the rec center, the table had fallen into significant disrepair. It was then stored in a warehouse for several years and was slated for disposal. Eric intervened and saved the table from the landfill. The restoration was completed in January of 2008.
